Unité d’Habitation(1946~52), Marseille, which is the most well-known collective housing designed by Le Corbusier, is recognized as the first of modern high-rise collective housing. This housing type was also famously based on Immeuble-Villas(1922/1925), which he proposed in the early 1920s. Between the two periods, during the 1920s and 1930s, a total of 19 collective housing plans including six constructed ones are found in the list of the Le Corbusier’s works. Focusing on the housing planned during this period, this study aimed to discuss the characteristics of the compositions and understand the overall change and correlation with housing. This study will examine the progress in which the modern ideal shown in the first theoretical model, Immeuble-villas, gradually developed into the final model, Unité d’Habitation, and the practical process of housing implementation. Ultimately, the purpose of this study is to expand understanding and interpretation of Le Corbusier collective housing and propose a new perspective.

르 꼬르뷔제의 집합주거 대표작, 마르세이유 유니떼 다비따시옹(1946~52)은 흔히 현대 고층집합주거 유형의 효시라고 인식된다. 이 주동의 유형이 20년대 초의 그가 제안한 임메블르-빌라(Immeuble-Villas 1922,1925)로부터 본격적으로 발전된 사실 또한 잘 알려져 있다. 이 둘의 사이인 20~30년대에는 르 꼬르뷔제 작품전집 상의 목록으로만 한정했을 때, 건설된 6건을 포함한 총 19건의 집합주거계획이 있다. 본 연구는 바로 이 기간 동안 계획된 주동들에 주목, 그 구성적 특징을 종합적으로 고찰함으로써 전반적인 주동 구성방식의 변화의 흐름과 상호관계를 파악하는 것이다. 이로써 최초의 이론모델인 임메블르-빌라에 담긴 근대적 이상이 점차, 최종모델인 유니떼 다비따시옹의 구성을 갖추어가는 일련의 과정을 파악, 집합주거 주동의 실질적인 구현과정을 조명하고자 한다. 궁극적으로, 르 꼬르뷔제 집합주거의 해석에 있어서 이해의 폭을 넓히고 새로운 관점을 제공하는 데에 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
