This study tries to find out the models of moral education during the earlier study periods of D. Narvaeaz as a moral education scholar. Narvaez herself divided her earlier study periods into two sub-periods, one as implicit moral rationality study period and another one as school moral education study period. However, the division and labelling are likely to ask which theory and model she actually practise for moral education during those periods. This study found out that Narvaez practised her moral education by way of Rest’s 4-components model, and then developed a alterative character education model which was based on the 4-components model and was for critical thinking and was critical against Aristotle’s character eduction, and which was called as the Deliberate Character Education(DCE) later. Added implicit cognition, schema, virtue ethics, positive psychology etc. to the DCE, Narvaez developed the Integrative Ethical Education(IEE). However, those components had not a foundation which could unite themselves as a coherent system. This needed her new period to study.
