This research proceeded to know use of guitar which is one of basic accompaniment instruments by music therapists who are practicing in Korea. For sample, we used convenience sampling method among adult music therapists aged 20 to 50 who have acquired certification of music therapy and more than master’s degree. And for research method, we applied researching method through questionnaire. Survey is consist of 47 of the interpersonal survey and e-mail survey for 180 subjects, in through that research there have analysis from 78 among 31. Following research results, at first, 35.6% of main accompaniment instruments was guitar and mostly guitar was used limitedly and the biggest reason they didn't use guitar was by burden of skill shortages. Second, almost music therapists are using limited rhythm in clinic and third, 97.3% people agreed to training needs to strengthen techniques in guitar's accompaniment to improve professional competency of music therapists. Moreover, they agreed to training needs about professional advanced guitar techniques such as high level of guitar chord, rhythm. Through these research results, we expect to recognize the importance of practical education in music therapy education area from now on and guitar training programs are created in order to improve Ability of practical skill for music therapists.

본 연구는 현재 국내에서 활동 중인 음악치료사를 대상으로 기본 반주 악기의 하나인 기타(guitar)의 활용 정도를 알아보기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 표본 추출은 20∼50대의 음악치료자격증을 소지한 석사수료 이상의 음악치료사 중에서 편의표집 방법을 사용하였다. 연구방법은 질문지를 통한 조사연구방법을 적용하였다. 설문은 대면설문으로 47부, 180명을 대상으로 한 이메일 설문을 통해 31부 등 총 78부를 회수, 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 기타가 주 반주 악기인 경우는 35.6%였으며 대부분 제한적으로 기타를 사용하고 있으며 이들이 기타 활용을 하지 않는 가장 큰 이유는 기타 기술 부족으로 인한 부담이 었다. 둘째, 대부분의 음악치료사들이 전체 리듬 중 일부 리듬만을 임상에서 활용하고 있고 셋째, 음악치료사의 전문적 역량을 키우기 위해 기타반주 기술 강화를 위한 기본적인 훈련의 필요성에는 97.3%가 동의하고 있었다. 또한 고급 기타 코드, 리듬 등의 전문적인 기타 기술에 대한 훈련 필요성에 대해서도 동의하고 있었다. 본 연구 결과 향후 음악치료 교육 현장에서 실기 교육의 중요성을 인식하고, 음악치료사의 기타 실기 기술 역량을 키우기 위한 교육 프로그램이 마련되기를 기대한다.
