Recent interest in attitude toward civil service is very limited and seems to be perceived as an old concept. However, in the situation, corruption is widespread and growing the desire for attitude toward civil service of public officials and citizens, looking attitude toward civil service through their ideas and experiences of past ancestors is very meaningful. As a research method, to explore the attitude toward civil service of Myeongjae, Yeun Jeung, try to analyzing and evaluating mainly to historical background, personal experiences(episodic) and his ideological background. After all, it is in the attitude toward civil service of Myeongjae, Yeun Jeung who did not even once entered the office that sober explores the attitudes and perceptions about public officials through rational insight based on the Confucian worldview of the time(The Joseon Dynasty). In particular, through a letter to his son in 『Myeongjae manscripts(明齋遺稿)』, it is proposed the core content for the work of local officials ruled the people directly(Ichi, 吏治).

최근 공직관에 대한 관심은 매우 한정적이고, 전통적인 개념으로 인식되고 있는 듯하다. 하지만, 부정부패가 팽배하고, 공무원들 및 국민들의 공직에 대한 갈망은 더욱더 높아 지고 있는 실정에서 과거 선조의 사상이나 이들의 경험 등을 통한 공직관을 살펴보는 것 은 매우 의미가 있을 것이다. 연구방법으로서, 명재 윤증의 공직관을 살펴보기 위해 시대적 배경과 개인적 경험(일 화), 그리고 그의 사상적 배경 등을 중심으로 분석해 보고자 한다. 특히 『명재유고(明齋 遺稿)』에서 언급하고 있는 명재 윤증의 공직관을 분석해 보고자 한다. 결국, 한 번도 공직에 진출하지 않았던 명재 윤증이 생각한 공직관으로 조선시대를 지 배하던 당시의 성리학적 세계관을 바탕으로 합리적 통찰력을 통해 공직에 대한 냉철한 인식과 이에 임하는 공직자의 태도 등을 제시해 보고자 한다. 특히, 『명재유고(明齋遺稿)』 에서 아들에게 보낸 편지 등을 통해 백성들을 직접 다스렸던 지방 관료들의 행정, 즉 이치(吏治)의 요결을 제시해 보고자 한다.
