This study is focuses on the improvement of short-term Korean language courses at universities. While studies on regular Korean language courses at universities are systematic and various, those pertaining to short-term courses are not common. This study specifically used a method called IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) to evaluate the short-term Korean Language course for Japanese students who prefer short-term overseas courses. As a result, it was identified that the areas which need improvement are the “Korean family” part of the language course and the “Cultural experience” part of the activities. Therefore, this study suggests teaching the “Korean family” aspect by utilizing cultural contents with cultural rather than linguistic approaches, in order to improve the Korean Language course for a specific environment and specific learners.

본 연구는 대학 기관의 단기 과정 한국어 프로그램의 향상 방향에 초점을 맞추어 논의되었다. 대학 기관의 정규 과정 프로그램에 대한 연구는 체계적이고 다양한 데 비해서 단기 과정 프로그램에 대한 연구는 부족한 것이 현실이다. 특히 단기 유학을 선호하는 일본인 학습자들을 대상으로 하는 단기 과정 한국어 프로그램을 IPA(Importance Performance Analysis)라는 중요도-만족도 기법을 바탕으로 재평가 해 보았다. 그 결과 개선이 필요한 항목이 한국 사회 문화 이해 강의의 일환인 ‘한국 가족’과 활동의 한 영역인 ‘문화 체험 활동’임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 특정한 상황과 대상에 맞는 한국어 교육의 질적 향상을 위해서 언어적인 접근이 아닌 문화적 접근으로 문화 콘텐츠를 활용한 ‘한국 가족’의 실제 수업 방안을 제안하였다.
