The purpose of this research is to analyze the narrative of youth retreat in Korean church. The results of analysis can lead us to understand the inner reality of youth retreat or cultures of youth retreat and interaction between students, ministries, church school teachers, and administrators of mission agencies in the complicated Korean churches. To achieve the goal of this research, total 20 research participants(Male: 13, Female: 7) were selected. They have many experiences on youth retreat in their churches or mission agencies. This study is conducted Focus Group Interview(FGI) with students, ministries, church school teachers, and administrators of mission agencies and through an analysis of the qualitative materials which are the data from in-depthinterviews, field notes and observations, all of which is analyzed by Blue Bird 2.0, which is one of CAQDAS(Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software). Blue Bird 2.0 has been developed by researchers in Korea, which focused Korean user-friendly. And it provides clear data analysis with regard to how they interview, how they question the participants and how they analyze the qualitative materials. The research results present the narrative of the 20 participants. Based on these narratives, I identified the insider's perspectives and dilemmas of youth retreat in Korean church. These critical factors of include the dilemmas on nature of the youth retreat in churches, duplicate programs and lecturers, secularization of retreat theme, illusion of praise timein youth retreat, polarization of the church that attend a retreat, various characteristics of the participants, and unwavering meaning of youth retreat in church.

본 연구에서는 청소년들과 청소년 수련회 사역자들(목회자 포함)이 실제적으로 경험하는 수련회의 과정과 의미를 질적연구의 내러티브(Narrative) 탐구를 통해 심층적으로 기술하고, 그 속에서 그들이 경험하는 다양한 딜레마와 내용들을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 바탕으로 심층면담, 현장노트 및 내용분석, 보조적 관찰 등의 방법을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 현장에서 수집된 질적자료들의 경우 질적자료분석 컴퓨터 프로그램(CAQDAS)인 파랑새 2.0을 통해 분석하였다. CAQDAS의 경우 연구자들이 어떻게 면담이 이루어졌으며, 어떠한 질문을 하였는지 그리고 수집된 질적인 자료가 어떻게 분석되었는지를 타당성 있게 확보해줄 수 있어 자료 분석에 있어 효과적인 도구이다. 이를 통해서 다음과 같은 청소년 수련회와 관련된 딜레마와 이슈들을 도출하였다. 첫째, “수련회의 특색이 없어졌습니다.”: 수련회의 본질과 성격의 문제, 둘째,“○○목사님과 ○○찬양팀을 해야 대박”: 스타 강사와 동일한 프로그램의 식상함, 셋째, “왜곡된 힐링과 비전”: 수련회 주제의 세속화, 넷째, "말씀시간에는 대부분 나가거나 잡니다": 찬양중심 집회의 아쉬움, 다섯째, “위엄이 있는 큰 교회와 몇 명 없는 작은 교회”: 수련회 참석 교회 간 양극화 문제, 여섯째, “수련회 처음 온 아이들은 어쩌지요?”: 다양한 구성원들의 신앙적 차이, 일곱째, "신앙적 회복을 위한 몸부림": 청소년 수련회의 변함없는 의미 등이다. 이러한 현장지향적이며 미시적인 접근을 통해 도출한 내용들은 청소년 수련회와 관련된 내부자적인 인식의 특징이 무엇인지를 밝혀주고 있으며, 해당 상황과 관련된 문제와 딜레마들을 해결하기 위한 기초자료를 제공해주고 있어 청소년 수련회에 대한 방향성 제고를 위한 평가와 정책적 시사점에 기여하고 있다.
