In Korea history f architecture, there’s few documentation remains of record about Korean traditional housing. The purpose of this study is to estimate and restore the form of the traditional Sadaebu housing in 16th century through discussion of mi-am-diary. To carry out this study, It is surveyed the theoretical and field study for the Gaekcheong architecture which is part of mi-am-diary by Yuhuichun who was a civil servant in the 16th Century Chosun Dynasty. Through mi-am-diary, this study is able to estimate that the layout, floor plan, size and form of Sadaebu housing, situation of housing, the floor plan and facade of Gaekcheong. Based on the estimation, this study tried to restore Yuhuichun housing. This study is concluded that although it was estimated according to record, the mi-am-diary is meaningful in that the diary reflects the phases of the times and provided fodder for site plan composition of Sadaebu housing in 16th century. It had been formed from Anchae(main building) - Haenglangchae(annex building) - Gaekcheong(guest room) - sadang(ancestral shrine building) for 30years. This study hope that the estimate and restore method of traditional housing continues for many years. Due to the method, expect that to arrive at a solution of Traditional housing balance with contemporary architecture.

우리 역사에서 일반 민가 조영에 대한 기록은 거의 없는 실정이다. 16세기말 조선시대 문신인 유희춘이 11년간 친필로 쓴 미암일기 중에서 객청 조영을 상세히 일기로 쓴 것을 고찰하여 당시대의 사대부가의 가옥의 형태와 유희춘 가옥의 위치, 객청의 평면과 입면 등을 연구하여 16세기말 사대부 가옥의 형태를 추정 복원하고자 함이 본 논고의 목적이다. 여기서는 유희춘의 미암일기를 분석하여 유희춘 가옥의 형성과정과 일기해석을 통한 건물들의 규모를 유추하였으며 이를 통하여 유희춘의 가옥 전반을 추정 복원하고자 하였다. 비록 이러한 연구가 기록에 의한 추정에 불과하지만 그 시대를 반영하는 일기라는 점에 주안점을 두어 당시대의 주택가옥 배치 구성 등을 알 수 있는 단초를 제공 할 수 있다는 점에서 의미를 둘 수 있다. 앞으로 이러한 기록속에서 건축적 요소 등을 발굴하여 고건축의 영역을 넓혀가는 작업들이 지속되어 과거의 건축이 현대에 재현되고 조화될 수 있는 방안들이 도출될 수 있기를 기대한다.
