It is South Korea that Christian mission is the most successful in Asia. Even though South Korean church has stagnated, the share of South Korean church is the Chinese mission and North Korean mission. Because North Korea is the Korean race, the church of South Korea should regard the North Korean mission the most important mission rather than the Chinese mission and the South Asian mission. Currently, the North Korean mission concentrates on the aid project for North Korea, the reconstruction of the North Korean Churches, and unification movement. The North Korean mission focusing on unification movement can be called as horizontal mission. And the North Korean mission for the aid project for North Korea and the reconstruction of the North Korean churches can be called as the vertical mission. However, this article is going to emphasizes that the North Korean mission should develop the deep mission beyond the vertical mission and the horizontal mission. It is interesting that the North Korean mission should regard North Korea as other culture or other religion. This means that the South Korean church thinks of North Korea as the same culture with South Korea, and does not thinks of North Korea’s Juche Idea as a religion. However, the two arguments does not try to reconstruct Christian gospel to be appropriate with North Korea. The deep North Korean mission engages to reconstruct Christian Gospel being appropriate with the present system of North Korean. In other words, the deep North Korean mission struggles for the theology of North Korea. It is true that the guidance ideology of North Korea is Juche Idea. Even though the Juch Idea is regarded as a political ideology or a religion, it is the idealogical base of North Korean people. Therefore, the creation of North Korean Theology should be one of the important missions beyond the dialogue between Juche Idea and Christianity. For the creation of North Korean Theology to contribute to the deep North Korean mission, this article are going to engage on the relationship between Slavoj Zizek’s theology and the North Korean Juche Idea. Slavoj Zizek thinks of himself as a materialist and interprets Christianity. According to Zizek, one should experience Christianity in order to become an authentic dialectical materialist. Because Zizek is a atheist and materialist, his interpretation of Christianity can contribute to the construction of North Korean theology as a stepping-stone. The Theology of unification is very significant in the discourse of North Korean mission but North Korean Theology and Christianity should be constructed before the theology of unification. In this respect, this article will articulate the relativeness between Juche Idea and Zizek’s material theology.

아시아에서 기독교의 선교가 두드러지게 이루어진 곳은 한국이다. 비록 현재는 침체의 늪에 빠져있지만, 지금까지 성장한 한국교회가 짊어져야 하는 선교적 몫은 중국선교와 더불어 북한선교이다. 북한이 한민족이기 때문에 사실상 한국 기독교는 동남아시아 선교나 중국선교보다 북한선교를 더 우선적인 과제로 삼아야 한다. 현재 북한선교는 대북지원, 북한교회재건운동, 통일운동과 같은 외형적인 측면에 집중하고 있다. 통일운동에 중심을 두는 북한선교는 수평적 선교라면, 북한교회재건과 대북지원은 수직적 선교라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 북한선교가 수평적 선교와 수직적 선교를 넘어서 심층적 선교도 전개되어야 함을 강조하려고 한다. 북한선교는 북한을 타문화권으로 간주하고 선교가 이루어져야 한다는 주장이 제기되고 있고, 또한 북한을 타종교권으로 간주하고 북한선교가 전개되어야 한다는 주장도 제기된다. 그러나 이러한 입장들은 기독교 복음의 내용을 북한에 적합하게 재구성하려는 움직임들을 찾아보기 어렵다. 심층적 북한선교는 현재 북한체제와 북한주민에게 적합하게 복음의 내용을 재구성하는 북한신학의 구성을 의미한다. 현재까지 북한사회의 지도적 이념은 주체사상이다. 주체사상이 정치적 이데올로기도 간주되든지, 하나의 종교로 간주되든지 주체사상은 북한체제와 북한주민들의 사상적 기반이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 주체사상과 기독교의 대화의 차원을 넘어서 주체사상을 전제로 하는 북한신학의 창출은 북한선교의 중요한 과제중의 하나로 간주되어야 한다. 본 논문은 심층적 북한선교를 위한 북한신학의 정립을 위하여 슬라보이 지젝(Slavoj Zizek)의 유물론적 신학과 주체사상과의 연관성을 고찰하여 보려고 한다. 슬라보이 지젝(Slavoj Zizek)은 스스로를 유물론자로 자체하면서 기독교를 해석한다. 그에 따르면, 기독교의 전복적 핵심은 오로지 유물론적 접근을 통해서만 이해할 수 있으며, 역으로 진정한 변증법적 유물론자가 되기 위해서는 기독교적 경험을 거쳐야 한다고 주장한다. 무신론자/유물론자인 지젝의 기독교 해석은 유물론에 토대를 두고 있는 주체사상에 적합한 북한신학의 구성을 위하여 하나의 징검다리로서 큰 역할을 할 수 있으리라 기대된다. 통일신학도 중요하지만, 통일신학이전에 북한신학과 북한적 기독교가 구성되어져야 한다. 이러한 입장에서 본 논문은 우선적으로 북한선교의 유형과 정책을 간단하게 살펴보면서 심층적 북한선교의 필요성을 강조하고, 두 번째로 북한의 주체사상이 등장하게 된 배경을 중심으로 북한 주체사상의 특징을 유물론과 인간중심으로 정리하여 본다. 마지막으로 지젝의 유물론적 신이해와 성육신 해석을 살펴보면서 주체사상과의 연관성을 제시하여 보려고 한다.
