This study investigated teachers’ perception on Diversification Policy on School Management which aims to overcome abnormal school management phenomena and realized the students’ balance of learning and relaxation. As a main study tool, online survey targeted 10 teachers in one school was conducted. The contents of survey were the evaluation of present school management situation, opinion about Diversification Policy on School Management and some suggestions for improvement of that policy. The findings are as follows: Schools in Gyeonggi-do office of education used four season vacation as one way of Diversification Policy actively. Overarching, teachers have recognized the policy positively but the benefits of that policy were differently replied by the level of schools. Also, to maintain the policy well, it is necessary to implement special programs for students from double-income or unprivileged family. The intents of Diversification Policy on School Management are not only simply changing of school vacation schedule but also adjusting school curriculum and school administration system totally. To the success of the policy, ministry of education and office of education should support schools and teachers to build capacity for the policy implementation. Besides, the decision and enforcement on School Diversification Model in a school should made based on democratic process and monitored continuously.

이 연구는 취약시기의 학사운영 문제를 극복하고 학생들의 학습과 휴식의 균형을 실현하기 위한 정책인 ‘학사운영 다양화 정책’에 대한 교원의 인식을 살펴봄으로써 정책의 개선방안을 제안하였다. 경기도교육청 교원들을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 통해 기존의 학사운영제(1학년 2학기제)에 대한 평가 그리고 학사운영 다양화 방안으로써 제안된 사계절방학제(단기방학, 4분기 학사제)의 영향, 문제점, 개선방안 등을 분석하였다. 연구결과 경기도교육청의 단위학교들은 학교장재량휴업제도를 사용하여 제한적으로 사계절방학제를 운영하고 있었다. 교원들은 사계절방학제에 대해 전반적으로 긍정적인 인식을 보였지만, 학교급별(초등, 중등)로 사계절방학의 효과를 다소 다르게 인식하였다. 또한 사계절방학제의 내실있는 시행을 위해서는 맞벌이나 저소득층 가정 자녀들과 같이 특별한 교육적 수요가 필요한 집단을 위한 특별 프로그램 마련이 필요하다고 응답하였다. 특히, 초등학교의 경우 사계절방학제의 준비와 시행에 보다 큰 노력이 필요하다고 대답하였다. 학사운영 다양화는 단순히 수업과 방학 일정을 조정하는 것으로만 끝나는 것이 아니라 학교교육과정, 학교운영시스템 그리고 학교지역사회에 대한 영향 등 직·간접적인 영향을 미치는 중요한 정책이다. 단위학교가 이를 성공적으로 집행하기 위해서는 학교와 교원들의 역량강화지원 노력과 학사운영 모델을 선택하는 과정의 민주적 절차의 보장 그리고 학사운영 다양화 성과의 모니터링이 필요하다.
