The purpose of this study is to establish how educational belief of taekwondo instructors affects self-esteem of child trainees training taekwondo. A survey is conducted and analyzed targeting 121 taekwondo instructors and 164 child trainees training taekwondo of taekwondo studios in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. To confirm the effect between factors, descriptive statistics, frequencies, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis are conducted by using SPSS 20.0. A significant level of all statistics is 0.5, and a result through an analysis is as follows. First, as a result to analyze sub-variables of educational belief by individual characteristics of taekwondo instructors, gender has no statistically significant difference. In a marriage, there is a statistically significant difference in developmentalism. In age, there is a statistically significant difference in developmentalism. Second, as a result to analyze sub-variables of self-esteem by individual characteristics of taekwondo child trainees, there is no statistically significant difference in gender and age. In training career, there is a statistically significant difference in general ego and family ego. Third, as a result to analyze the effect of educational belief of taekwondo instructors on self-esteem of child trainees, behaviorism of sub-variables of educational belief of instructors has a statistically significant impact on social self-esteem and family self-esteem.

이 연구는 태권도 지도자의 교육신념이 태권도를 수련하는 아동수련생들의 자아존중감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 대해 규명하는데 그 목적을 두고 연구를 진행하였다. 서울과 경기지역에 위치한 태권도장을 대상으로 태권도 지도 자 121명, 태권도를 수련하고 있는 아동수련생 164명의 연구 참여자를 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 분석하였다. 설문지를 통해 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 사용하여 요인 간에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 확인하기 위하여 기술통계, 빈 도분석(Frequencies), t-검증(t-test), 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA), 다중회귀분석(Multiple regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 모든 통계치의 유의수준은 .05로 설정하였으며, 분석을 통해 얻어낸 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 태권도 지도자의 개인적 특성별 교육신념의 하위변인 분석 결과 성별은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 결혼 유·무에는 성숙주의에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 연령에서도 성숙주의에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이 가 나타났다. 둘째, 태권도 아동수련생들의 개인적 특성별 자아존중감의 하위변인을 분석한 결과 성별과 연령에서는 통 계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았고, 수련경력에서 일반적 자아와 가정적 자아에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났 다. 셋째, 태권도 지도자의 교육신념이 아동수련생의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 지도자의 교육신념의 하 위변인에서 행동주의가 사회적 자아존중감과 가정적 자아존중감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
