Despite 'Christian Dance' has a certain steady roles in outside of the public worship, today's modern Christianity has the limit of the usage of dance in worship. In this study, the researcher investigated the suitability of Christian Dance as one of the elements in worship through the studies about current worship and its elements. Spirit of worship, not as a form, is the relationship with God. It is the experience and enjoyment within Christ, and exalting God through worship. In this spirit of worship, the congregations at worship should be a proactive participant to participate in interactive communication with God not as a 'crowd' of service. Using nonverbal language is an effective way for the active participation of the congregation. Dance as a nonverbal language has the function of the complex of the nonverbal communication. Through the continuous effort on improving the insufficient leverage on Christian Dance - despite the relevance of the Christian liturgical roles what dance has -, the researcher believe the Christian Dance can be utilized a medium in the worship and justification as a worship element.

오늘날 기독교 무용은 예배 외적인 영역에서의 꾸준한 역할에도 불구하고 공적인 예배에서의 활용은 제약을 갖고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 공적인 예배에서의 기독교 무용의 역할에 대한 논의를 예배와 예배 예전 요소에 대한 고찰을 통해 기독교 무용의 예배의 도구적 적합성에 대하여 논하였다. 예배의 근본 정신은 형식이 아닌, 하나님과의 관계 맺음이며, 그리스도 안에서 하나님으로 인해 만족을 누리는 경험이고, 예배를 통한 하나님의 가치를 높이는 것이다. 이러한 예배의 정신에 따라 회중은 예배의 ‘관중’이 아닌 하나님과 쌍방향 의사소통에 참여하는 능동적인 참여자가 되어야 한다. 비구술적 언어(nonverbal language)의 활용은 회중의 능동적 참여를 위한 효과적 방법이며, 비구술적 언어 중 하나인 무용은 복합적 비구술 언어의 기능을 가지고 있다. 무용과 같은 비구술적 언어의 적절한 활용을 통해 복음적 메시지가 보다 효과적으로 전달 될 수 있으며, 회중의 능동적 참여를 이끌 수 있다. 기독교 무용이 가지고 있는 예배적 역할의 당위성에도 불구하고 미흡한 활용 부분들에 대한 지속적인 개선의 노력을 한다면 기독교 무용이 예배 내에서 적절한 예배 예전요소로서 보다 적극적으로 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
