The aim of this article is to scrutinize the tradition of song and poetry compared『Bohyunsiwonga(普賢十願歌)』 of Kyunyeo with the chinese translation 『Bohyunsiwonsong(普 賢十願頌)』 of Choi Haenggwi. 『Bohyunsiwonga』 is composed of 11 poems. The process is go on 6 steps. Primarily start my heart to Buddha, and through prayer, spread to mankind, and finally all heart to Buddha. Chinese translation of 『Bohyunsiwonga』 is proud of Korean classical song namely Hyangga(鄕 歌). Choi Haenggwi looks forward to enter the sea of views by song and poem. And in connection with the 10th North-East Asian situation, Chinese translation of 『Bohyunsiwonga』 spread to an area between Yo(遼) and Pae(浿), namely Jeonganguk(定安國) built by the bereaved people of Balhae(渤海). And spread to Song(宋) dynasty. The people of Song dynasty were able to understand Chinese translation of 『Bohyunsiwonga』, and admired Kyunyeo. A hope all heart to Buddha is recognized, and the tradition of song and poetry is profitable in late 10th century between Korea(高麗) and Song(宋).

이 논문은 균여가 보현보살의 열 가지 서원을 바탕으로 지은 『보현시원가 』를 당대의 최행귀가 한역하여 중국으로 전파한 것을 바탕으로, 한역 의 성격과 10세기 후반 고려의 주변 정세와 관련하여 『보현시원가』의 전 승이 지닌 의미를 고찰한 것이다. 『보현시원가』 1편 11수는 부처를 향한 나의 마음이 원을 통하여 중생에 게 미쳐서 중생이 부처로 향할 수 있도록 구성한 노래이다. 최행귀는 이를 한시로 옮기면서 우리나라 노래에 대한 자부심을 드러 내고, 노래와 시를 통해 함께 의해(義海)로 돌아갈 수 있도록 기대하였다. 중국 사람들이 향찰로 이루어진 우리나라의 노래를 이해하지 못하기에 향찰로 된 『보현시원가』 를 동문(同文)의 『보현시원송』으로 옮긴 것이고, 『보현시원가』한역의 이면에는 비근한 일에서 출발하여 심원한 경지로 들어가는 부처의 경계라는 높은 단계가 전제되어 있다. 그리고 10세기 후반 고려와 동북아 지역의 정세 속에서 균여가 지은 『보현시원가』는 거의 같은 시기에 최행귀가 한역하면서, 요패(遼浿) 사이에 있던 발해계의 유민인 정안국(定安國)의 사람들 이나 서번(西蕃)의 여진 족이 다투어 베끼면서 그 중의 한 본이 중국 대륙으로 들어가서 송나라 군신이 보게 된 것이고, 송나라에서 중요하게 인식했던 것으로 추정할 수 있다.
