This study investigated what the context reinstatement(CR) affect the discrimination of Reality Monitoring(RM) between truthful and imagined statements. 226 undergraduate students were randomly assigned to 4 conditions. In the truthful condition, participants viewed a film, whereas in the deceptive condition, participants rehearsed (but did not experience) a synopsis of the film scenario. All participants were then tested in questionnaire that contained CR or not. The truthful condition contained more criteria of RM compared to the deceptive condition. The CR statements based on observed events contained more criteria of RM compared to CR statements based on imagined events. We further discussed the practical implications of the present findings.

본 연구는 현실모니터링 준거를 사용해서 맥락회복기법이 진술의 진실성을 판단하는데 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보았다. 이를 위해 강원도 소재 K대학교 재학생 226명을 대상으로, 진실집단에 게는 살인사건과 관련된 영상을 보여주었고 거짓집단에게는 영상에 대한 글을 읽으면서 그 내용을 실 제로 목격한 것처럼 상상하도록 지시하였다. 일주일 후 각 집단의 참가자들은 맥락회복 지시가 포함되 었거나 그렇지 않은 두 종류의 회상질문지 중 하나를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 진실집단은 거짓집단보다 현실모니터링의 진실준거 점수가 더 높았다. 또한, 맥락회복을 실시하여 확보된 진실한 진술은 맥락회 복을 실시하여 확보된 거짓 진술보다 현실모니터링 진실준거 점수가 더 높았다. 마지막으로 이 결과의 시사점 및 후속 연구에 대해 논의하였다.
