The purpose of this study was to examine trends and future tasks of the research that investigate culture acquisition based on Korean learner data. This study started from a step to define concept keywords focusing on culture acquisition and Korean learner, search for then, by these keywords, the articles that utilize Korean learner data published in various academic journals over the past 10 years. The analysis considered status of the researches approaching to the culture acquisition based on Korean learner data in two major aspects; acculturation related on migration or long-term stay(marriage migrant women, immigrated children, foreign student) and culture learning in the perspective of speech act. Based on thorough review so far, this study was able to show not only the recent trends of empirical research on Korean learner’s acculturation and culture learning, but also the way that the diversification of Korean learner data should advance in future.
