초록

영어

‘Ikinari’, ‘Huini’, and ‘Totuzen’ co-occur with sentence-final elements such as ‘-sihazimeru’, ‘-sidasu’, ‘-sikakaru’, and ‘-sikakeru’ to express a situation where a certain phenomenon occurs and co-occur with ‘-tekuru’ to express the beginning of a phenomenon or the change of status by indicating that it took a very small time for the situation to occur or start. Moreover, they share the common ground that such situations cannot be expected or predicted but took place suddenly without a sign. Considering the difference between the adverbs, ‘Ikinari’ represents the change that takes place without undergoing a process or steps that had to be and misses most or part of how the situation occurred. ‘Huini’ expresses unexpected changes involving the case where a continuous state changed out of expectation and the case where an expected situation changed out of expectation. For it could not be predicted at all and is a situation different from the preceding situation, it is outside presumption beyond expectation. ‘Totuzen’ indicates that a situation occurred or ended instantaneously in the objective view. It indicates that a situation or a change took place instantly, and the instantaneity of the change can represent the instantaneity of occurrence where a situation occurs and the instantaneity of termination where the continuous relationship is terminated.
