This is a study on the food, clothing, and shelter of the Soviet Koreans in the Russian Far East in the 1920s. This study has been conducted based on “Thought Up” a children’s story that was published first in the local Soveit Korean newspaper named Seonbong. This story, written by Bobinskaya, was translated by a Soviet Korean. Since it was translated according to the situation of the Soviet Korean society at that time so that readers could understand it better, terms and lifestyle described in the story is a reasonable material for a study on the food, clothing, and shelter of the Soviet Koreans at that period. The present study is divided into five parts. In the introduction we review the existing literature, point out the novelty of our research, and present the research method and scope of this paper. In chapter 2 we look into the clothing of the Soviet Koreans. In chapter 3 we examine their food. In chapter 4 we inspect their shelter. In conclusion we point out some of the topics that have not been covered in this paper and thus need to be studied in the future. As the result of the study shows, the Soviet Koreans in the Russian Far East in the 1920s maintained the Korean tradition as well as adopted to the Russian custom in regard to clothing and food. Meanwhile, regarding to shelter, they mainly followed the Russian form.

본 논문은 1920년대 후반 극동지역 고려인의 의식주를 연구하고 있다. 이를 위해서 본 논문에서는 당시에 발행되었던 고려인 신문 『선봉』에 최초로 연재된 어린이 소설 ｢생각 해냈다｣ 전문을 면밀하게 분석하고 있다. 이 어린이 소설은 보빈스카야의 소설로 고려인 이 번역하여 연재한 것이다. 고려인들이 잘 이해할 수 있도록 고려인 사회의 실정에 맞 게 번역되었기에 이 작품에 나타나는 용어와 고려인의 모습은 당시의 고려인의 의식주를 연구하기에 합당한 것으로 여겨진다. 본 논문은 5장으로 되어 있다. 머리말에서는 기존문헌을 검토하고 본 논문이 지니고 있는 새로운 측면이 무엇인지를 살펴본 다음 본 논문의 연구 방법과 연구 범위를 제시 한다. 2장에서는 고려인의 의복에 대해서 고찰한다. 3장에서는 고려인의 음식을 살펴본 다. 4장에서는 고려인의 주거에 대해서 알아본다. 맺음말에서는 본 논문에서 다루지 못 했으며 앞으로 연구되어야 할 주제가 무엇인지 살펴본다. 연구 결과, 1920년대 후반 극 동지역의 고려인은 의복과 음식에 있어서는 한국의 전통을 유지하는 한편 러시아의 관 습에도 일부 적응한 것으로 보인다. 한편 주거에 있어서는 러시아적인 형식을 보다 더 많이 갖추고 있는 것으로 드러났다.
