On the condition that today’s rapid decline of the Korean Church is caused by the absence of a proper theology of prayer and the failure of a proper prayer life, the researcher examined prayer as the principle and method of pastoral ministry, which is suggested as an alternative for overcoming the crisis. The writer examines pastoral ministry as the praxis of God’ own salvation which comes through the pastor’s mediation of the Word. It is also proven in terms of Reformed theology that only proper prayer makes this possible. And further, the practical alternatives for the principle and practice of theologically correct prayer are suggested on the foundation of Calvin’s teachings on prayer. Prayer is not an instrument for practical use through which we fulfil our own will in the name of God, but the way through which God’s coming is made possible. Prayer is, therefore, not one of many pastoral ministries but the essence of pastoral theology determining the nature of pastoral theology. Therefore only prayer makes proper pastoral work possible. The current problem of the Korean Church is that of pastors’ spirituality and specifically that of pastors’ prayer life. Therefore, above all, the practice of prayer in a proper sense should be recovered for pastors grounded on a correct theology of prayer. The prophetic, priestly and kingly prayers grounded on the munus triplex of Christ provide us a significant theological frame for the practice of a proper prayer. The starting point of recovery of prayer is to come near to God with the spirit of repentance, recognizing deeply that the pastor himself is a sinner before the Word as well as confessing that the subject of pastoral work is not himself, but God’s Word. Training the combative prayer as warfare for sin is also necessary, and the depth and the scope of priestly intercession should broaden abd increase.

연구자는 오늘의 한국교회의 본격적인 쇠퇴현상이 근본적으로 목회현장에 바른 기도신학의 부재와 목회자의 바른 기도의 상실과 실패에 기인하고 있다 는 전제하에, 위기극복의 근본 대안으로서 목회사역의 원리와 방법으로서의 바른 기도에 대해 고찰하였다. 목회사역이란 목회자의 말씀중개를 통해 우리 에게 임하는 하나님 자신의 구원의 프락시스이며, 그것은 바른 기도를 통해서 만 가능한 것임을 개혁주의 목회신학 입장에서 밝히고, Calvin의 기도론을 근 거로 바른 기도의 원리 및 실천을 위한 실제적 대안을 제시하였다. 기도는 하 나님의 이름으로 우리의 뜻을 이루는 실용적 도구가 아니며, 목회현장에 하나 님의 오심을 가능케 하는 길이다. 그러므로 기도는 목회사역 중의 하나가 아니 라, 목회사역의 성격과 본질을 결정짓는 목회사역의 정수(精髓)이며 바른 기도 만이 바른 목회를 가능케 한다. 오늘 한국교회의 문제는 근본적으로 목회자의 영성의 문제이며, 구체적으로 목회자의 기도의 문제라 할 수 있다. 목회자가 무엇보다도 바른 기도신학에 기초한 바른 기도의 실천을 회복해야 한다. Calvin의 그리스도의 삼중직에 기초한 선지자적, 왕적, 제사장적 기도는 바른 기도실천을 위한 중요한 신학적 틀을 제공한다. 바른 기도회복의 출발점은 목 회자 자신이 죄인임을 말씀 앞에서 깊이 인식하고, 올바른 신(神)인식과 함께 목회의 주체가 자신이 아니라 하나님의 말씀임을 고백하며, 회개의 심령으로 하나님 앞에 나아가는 것이다. 또한 죄에 대한 투쟁으로서의 전투적 기도를 훈 련하고 제사장적 중보기도의 깊이와 범위를 확대해야 한다.
