In this article, I will examine anger and discuss its similarities and differencesas a preparatory step to investigating how each overall emotion is realized throughbody parts. When one expresses the ‘anger’ emotion with a just a word ‘heavyfeeling’, communication becomes difficult because the listener is unable to understandthe speaker’s intention. Therefore, I believe communication will be more effectiveif it is described with words reflecting bodily symptoms such as ‘the center of one’schest is bursting or steam is coming out of one’s head’. However, these emotional bodily symptoms might very well only be a commonphenomenon of human beings; every culture has a different word to describe suchemotions. Consequentially, ‘anger’ is expressed as ‘heat, boiling up, explosion’, ‘bodilytransformation or a frown’, various colors (including white and yellow) such as ‘red・blue’ which mainly accompanies a reaction and pain of uprush in both the Japaneseand Korean language. Additionally, it is summarized as ‘expansion. dilating’, ‘distortion,upside-downness, flowing backwards’, ‘(light) spark’, ‘raising one’s eyes, glare’,‘spasm, tremble’ The expression of ‘yellow’ can only be found in the Korean language. The Japanese language on the other hand, expressions using body parts like ‘thecenter of the chest (a unique Korean expression of a chest)’ and condition of turningyellow especially the face were not found. There were no expressions relating tothe eyes such as ‘ax eyes, double wicks’. Noun-form expressions were uncommonin the Korean language and expressions referring to body parts such as the abdomenor canines were not found.
