In this research, triangulation method was used to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching ballet class to general dance majors with specific emphasis on the origin and meaning of ballet terminology. Summary of the data provided by the participants is shown below. First, profound understanding of traditional ballet poses through the exploration of the origin and meaning of terminology further opened up the possibility for creative movements. Second, in-depth discussion on the terms introduced a new interactive way of dance learning which the participants found both interesting and thought provoking. Overall, that the participants naturally turned to the essence of each movement demonstrated an important implication of language-terminology as a promising method of teaching-learning of dance.
