Japanese religions went over Korean Peninsula with the invasion of imperial Japan from late19th century. Tenrikyō was the first Japanese new religion that went Korean Peninsula and surviving till now. Some scholars examines the reason of succession of Tenrikyō. This paper attempt to introduce the religious policies of Government General Korea at first and investigate the tendency of Tenrikyō in colonial Korea. To testify the tendency, I use the articles about missionary on Korean Peninsula of Tenrikyō’s official organ Michi no Tomo. These articles gives us the information of Tenrikyō expanse, consciousness for colonial situation, and their faith. Investigating the articles of Michi no Tomo, we will find the conclusion that Tenrikyō kept the motivation of missionary different from the logic of empire in spite of keeping step with imperial Japan.

제국일본의 조선침략에 발을 맞추기라도 하듯 일본의 다양한 종교는 19세기 후반부터 한반도 상륙을 개시한다. 그 중 일본의 신흥종교인 천리교는 일찍이 한반도에 건너와,, 현대에 이르기까지 그 명맥을 유지하고 있다. 이러한 영향으로 연구자들 사이에도 신앙 계승의 측면에서 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본고에서는 당시의 천리교의 포교실태와 식민지와 신앙에 대한 천리교도의 의식이 어떠하였는지에 대하여 고찰할 목적으로 우선, 총독부·조선총동부의 종교정책을 개관하고 천리교의 기관지였던 『미치노토모』（道乃友）의 한반도 포교와 관련된 기사를 중심으로 분석하였다. 아울러, 시대적으로는 1930년대 초반까지를 대상으로 고찰하였다. 『미치노토모』 분석 결과, 천리교는 제국일본의 확대와 보조를 맞추면서도, 제국 논리와는 다른 포교의 동기를 가지고 있었다고 할 수 있다.

日本の諸宗教は、帝国日本の朝鮮侵略と歩調を合わせ、19世紀末から朝鮮半島への渡航を開始した。天理教は日本の新宗教の中で最も早く朝鮮半島に渡り、しかも現在までその命脈が保たれているものとして、その信仰の継承などについての研究が重ねられている。　 本稿ではまずは統監府・朝鮮総督府の宗教政策を概観し、天理教の機関紙であった『みちのとも（道乃友）』の朝鮮半島布教に関する記事を中心に取り扱い、当時の天理教の布教実態、そして植民地や信仰に対する天理教徒の意識はどのようなものであったのかということを、1930年代初頭までを対象に探ってみる。　『みちのとも』の分析から、天理教は帝国日本の拡大と歩調を合わせながらも、帝国の論理とは違う布教の動機を持っていたことが明らかとなった。
