＜마쯔라사요히메＞의 세 개의 広本 오토기조우시(広本お伽草子)중에서의 위치(독특성)를 정리해 보면 세 개의 広本 오토기조우시는 공통적으로 효심과 신앙심의 중요함을 작품의 주제로서 나타내고 있지만, ＜마쯔라사요히메＞의 작자만이자비심과 공덕을 쌓는 것의 중요함을 작품의 주제로서 새롭게 추가하고 있었다. 또 ＜마쯔라사요히메＞의 작자만이 법화경의 종교적 선전(宣伝)을 강하게 시도하려고 했다. 특히 불교를 깊게 신봉하고 있던 ＜마쯔라사요히메＞의 작가가 ＜사요히메사우시＞와 ＜사요히메＞에게는 없었던 새로운 주제를 추가해 독자를 계몽하자고 하는 강한 의도가 보이는 것은 중요한 의미를 가지고 있었다. 왜냐하면 작가의 불교에 대한 깊은 신봉과 포교심이 새로운 주제를 작품에 추가한 기인(起因)으로 크게 작용하고 있다고 생각할 수 있었기 때문이다. 또 ＜마쯔라사요히메＞의작가가 세대를 넘어 집의 번성을 바라는 당시의 독자의 지향에 응하여 집의 영속적인 번성을 위해 父、母、子供、富의 네 개의 요소의 충족의 필요성을 계몽하고있었다.
