The definition of modern fashion has expanded its meaning beyond the simple value of clothes to express their own unique personality. It serves as a medium through a variety of ways to convey the emotions and personalities of the fashion designer. In this study, publications such as the leading research papers, Internet, newspapers, magazines, and survey on the domestic and fusion Hanbok friends will be perused to research on redesigns in the fashion industry. They will be explored to understand how redesign impacts the fashion industry. Also, recyclable modern Western clothing and old Hanbok (traditional Korean dress) will be mixed and matched by using the structural components without altering their original garment components in order to create a redesigned a modern fusion-Hanbok. This redesign work will be presented to show the utilization of recycled clothing. This study shows that clothing materials are diverse and is possible to change one form to another while maintaining the original structural form. This design combined elements from Korean traditional clothing and Western modern clothing to exhibit the broad application of redesigned clothing. Taking consideration of old and discarded clothing and increased interest in reused clothing materials, it is necessary to develop and invest in redesign fashion to conserve resources and protect the environment.

현대 패션은 단순히 옷의 가치를 뛰어넘어 본인만의 독특한 개성을 표출하는 수단으로 그 의미가 확대되어져 가고 있다. 또한 패션 디자이너들의 감성과 개성을 전달하는 매개체로서 다양한 방식을 통해 자유로운 표현들이 시도되어 지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 패션 분야에서 리디자인과 관련된 서적과 선행 연구 논문, 인터넷, 신문 잡지 등의 기사를 참고하여 이론적 고찰을 하고, 리디자인을 적용하고 있는 국내외 브랜드와 국내 퓨전한복 브랜드의 현황 조사를 통해 리디자인이 패션산업에서 어떻게 활용되고 있는지에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 재활용 할 수 있는 일상복(현대 서양복)과 입지 않는 오래된 한복(전통의상)의 소재의 믹스매치와 기존의 의복 구성 요소를 변형시키지 않은 구조적 디테일 요소를 사용하여, 모던하고 세련된 느낌의 퓨전한복의 리디자인 작품을 제시함으로써 재활용 의류의 활용 방안을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구는 의류의 소재들은 다양하며 본연의 구조적인 형태를 유지한 채 변화가 가능하다는 것을 고려하여 활용하였으며, 우리나라의 전통 한복과 서양복을 결합하여 디자인함으로써 리디자인의 활용 범위를 넓힌 점에 의의를 둔다. 패션산업에서 오래되어 폐기되는 의류, 재사용이 가능한 의류에 관심과 적극적인 활용 방안을 생각한다면 자원절약과 환경보호에 대한 방안으로 리디자인에 대한 지속적인 관심과 개발이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
