Research on Correlation between Dietary Habit and Preference by Blood Type of High School Students in Seoul City

The purpose of this study is to implement proper nutrition education and exercise proper dietary life so that students could enjoy a sound life. This study used the ABO blood type to determine content, proper intake of protein, dietary fiber content, calcium, minerals, level of caffeine intake, and whether water intake is sufficient for the purpose of finding out the relationship between singular points by blood type and dietary life and application thereof to individual dietary life. The answers showed meaningful difference on questionnaires on whether green vegetables such as spinach, carrots are absorbed every day, whether one kind of meat, fish, egg, bean is absorbed every day, and whether seaweeds such as sea mustard, laver, kelp are absorbed. The answers to the preference questionnaire (a-la carte) showed meaningful difference between what flakes noodle and rice-cake soup. This study provides basic information on various life style illnesses such as high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular illness, cancer etc.,that would be required if nutrition education is provided on blood types and dietary life. Dietary life education by blood type in the nutrition program will properly maintain health for youth who are under growth, and is regarded as a much effective nutrition improvement as future foods will be individually custom designed.
