This study was researched the implications and problems of private security research. And this study suggests development of the private security research. For the completion of this study it was to analyze the studies that were analyzed so far Private Security Studies. Private Security provides security services for money. Police provides policing services to all people. However, private security is a security service offered to the person who paid the money. As crime increases, the private security market has increased. Research on Private Security was also increased. Research on Private Security is starting a research vice president of security guarantees Co., Ltd. in Japan Yasuhiko Omori the police notice posted in 1982 was carried out about 700 pieces or more research so far. Private Security research had been done so far are mainly the need for private security and justice, was the study of a foreign private security personnel and organizational practices, and the start of the study and characteristics constitute a majority. Research on private security was made very narrow-minded than those in corporate management for research or profit on the police service. In this study, in order to solve these problems, we propose a study regarding the private security studies diversified way private security research and private security equipment utilization and private security market expansion for the market, in-depth expansion of private security personnel and organization-related research proposed the introduction of foreign cases.

이 연구는 지금까지 진행되었던 민간경비 연구의 의의와 문제점을 제시하고 향후 민간경비 연구의 방향을 모색한 연구로서, 최근 들어 정체되는 경향이 있는 민간경비 연구의 문제점을 살펴보고 시민이 치안서비스를 구매하는 방향 민간경비의 특성을 고려하여 발전방안을 제시한 연구이다. 이 연구의 완성을 위하여 지금까지 연구되었던 민간경비 관련 연구들을 분석하여 시대별 흐름과 민간경비 연구의 특성 문제점과 개선방안을 제시하였다. 사회가 발달해 감에 따라 증가하는 범죄로 인하여 민간경비를 구매하는 사람이 증가하게 되었다. 여기서 논하는 민간경비라는 것은 일반시민에게 국가가 독점하던 치안서비스를 보다 나은 서비스를 원하는 사람이 재화를 제공하고 치안서비스를 제공받는 산업으로서 치안서비스를 제공하는 시장이 확대됨에 따라 민간경비에 대한 연구도 증가하기 시작하였다. 민간경비에 대한 연구는 1982년 경찰고시에 개제된 일본경비보장주식회사의 부사장 오오모리 야스히코의 연구를 시작으로 지금까지 약 700편 이상의 연구가 실시되었다. 지금까지 이루어졌던 민간경비 연구들은 주로 필요성과 민간경비에 대한 정의, 특성 등에 대한 연구를 시작으로 외국사례 및 민간경비 인력과 조직에 대한 연구가 다수를 이루고 있었다. 지금까지 민간경비에 대한 연구는 치안서비스에 관한 연구 혹은 이윤추구를 위한 기업경영에 비하여 매우 편협하게 이루어졌다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 이 연구에서는 민간경비 연구의 다변화방법으로 민간경비 시장에 대한 연구 및 민간경비 장비활용ㆍ민간경비시장 확대 등에 관한 연구를 제안하였으며, 심도 있는 민간경비 인사 및 조직관련 연구의 확대, 해외사례의 소개를 제안하였다.
