The youth facilities face a new challenge amongst various social changes, such as, the decrease of youth population due to low birth- rates, increase of multi-culture and multi-national families, liberal trends of education, and extended uses of information technology. Also, in line with economic affluence, the desire to lead a leisurely lifestyle increases the interest in youth culture and life as well as its corresponding facilities. This study is the design of youth cultural center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, which provides a platform to promote communications and group activities and facilitate the development of emotional intelligence among youth. The key takes on the site plans always are; firstly, a preliminary literature research suggests the psychological behaviour of youth and the required space for the youth facilities. Secondly, the design of a cultural complex, which is flexible enough to cope with the changes in social trend as well as cooperate with ambient environments. Thirdly, a space program and it‘s design elements are provided to make use of the common use space, reflecting the psychological behaviour of youth. A town alley is emulated in a youth cultural center to make the facilities always open to locals and young people to communicate, play, and learn in a lively and safe atmosphere.

최근 출산율 저하로 인한 유소년 인구 감소, 교육의 개방화 및 다문화가정의 확대, 맞벌이 가정의 증가, 정보화 확대 등 다양한 사회적 이슈와 함께 청소년 시설계획에 있어서 물리적 변화를 촉발하고 있다. 한편, 경제적 성장과 함께 여가활용과 삶의 질 향상에 대한 욕구로 인해 청소년 문화와 생활에 대한 관심과 시설 확충이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 서울특별시 송파구 청소년문화의 집 신축 건축계획안으로 청소년의 감성발달과 정서적 교류, 사회와의 소통을 도모하고 그들의 활동을 지원하는 청소년 문화공간 조성에 관한 계획이다. 건축설계의 주안점으로는 첫째, 선행연구와 문헌조사를 통해 청소년의 환경심리행태를 조사하여 청소년 시설에서 요구되는 공간을 정리한다. 둘째, 배치 및 동선계획에 있어서 주변시설과의 조화로운 관계와 이용자 동선을 적극적으로 고려하고 사회여건 변화에 부응할 수 있는 가변적이고 융통성 있는 공간구성을 통해 복합적인 문화공간을 구축하고자 한다. 셋째, 청소년의 환경심리행태를 반영하여 공용공간을 적극적으로 활용할 수 있는 공간구성 및 디자인요소를 추출한다. 디자인 주요 컨셉으로 골목길에서 나타나는 공간적 특징과 개념을 적용해 공용공간을 계획함으로써 청소년의 소통과 교류를 도모하고 배치 및 동선계획에 있어서 골목길처럼 항시 지역사회에 열려있는 안전하고 활기 있는 장소로서의 청소년문화의 집을 제안하고자 한다.
