The purposes of this study were to examine the mediating effect of aggression on the relationship between parental abuse and mobile phone dependency, as well as the moderated mediation effect of youth activity on the relationship among parental abuse, aggression and mobile phone dependency. The moderated mediation analysis was conducted with SPSS macro. This study employed Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) wave 4, which was administered by the National Youth Policy Institute. The sample consisted of 1,881 high school first graders. The results of this study were as follows. First, parental abuse not only directly affected mobile phone dependency, but also indirectly affected it by mediating aggression. Second, youth activity moderated the effect of aggression on mobile phone dependency. Finally, youth activity also moderated the mediation effect of aggression on the relationship of parental abuse and mobile phone dependency. Based on these results, practical implications were discussed in order to strategically intervene in the adolescent maltreatment's pathway that leads to mobile phone dependency.

본 연구는 부모로부터의 학대경험이 공격성을 통해 휴대폰 의존도에 미치는 경로에서 청소년 활동이 이를 조절할 수 있는지 확인하기 위해 청소년 활동의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 ‘한국 아동·청소년 패널조사(KCYPS)’ 중1패널 4차년도 데이터를 활용하였으며, 전국의 청소년 1,881명을 대상으로 변인 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 가설검증을 위해 SPSS macro를 활용하였으며, 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학대경험은 휴대폰 의존도에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 공격성을 매개하여 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년 활동은 청소년 학대경험이 공격성을 통해 휴대폰 의존도에 미치는 매개효과를 완충하는 조절된 매개효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 피학대 청소년이 휴대폰에 의존하게 되는 구체적인 경로를 탐색하고, 이러한 경로를 차단하는 개입의 지점을 파악하여 이에 대한 실천적, 정책적 함의를 제언하였다.
