The purposes of this study were to analyze the creative education studies in three elementary subjects such as science, math and practical arts and to suggest some implications for creative study in practical arts education. For these purposes, data were collected through DBpia, KISS and eArticle and analyzed using MS Excel program. The findings of this study were as follows. First, a term ‘creativity’ in three subjects’ curriculum was based on a specialized knowledge and skills in subject areas and related to problem solving process or activity. Second, there were some differences among three subjects in their diversity and concreteness of curriculum guidelines to foster creativity. Third, the definitions of creativity in science and math subjects reflected their subject’s characteristics well compared to that in practical arts. Fourth, even though the components of creativity were presented diversly in science and math related studies, only some of those were applied in research. Fifth, creative education studies in math were conducted in diverse research areas compared to those of science and practical arts.

이 연구의 목적은 초등 과학, 수학, 실과 교과를 중심으로 창의성 교육 연구의 교과별 특성을 비교‧분석하여 실과의 창의성 교육에 주는 시사점을 도출하는 것이었다. 이를 위하여 각 교과의 교육과정과 창의성 관련 연구를 대상으로 ‘교과 명칭’과 ‘창의성’을 조합한 주제어를 활용하여 연구 목적에 적합한 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석 내용에 따라 분류한 후 종합하는 방법으로 문헌 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 바탕으로 도출된 연구 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세 교과의 교육과정에서는 창의성을 교과의 전문적 지식과 기능을 바탕으로 하며, 교과 관련 생활 문제를 해결하는 과정이나 활동으로 명시하고 있었다. 둘째, 교육과정에서 창의성 신장을 위한 지침의 구체성과 다양성은 교과별로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 과학과 수학교육 연구에서의 창의성에 대한 정의는 교과 고유의 특성을 잘 반영하고 있었으나, 실과교육 연구에서는 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 과학과 수학교육 연구에서는 창의성의 구성요소를 다양하게 제시하고 있지만, 실제 연구에 적용된 요소는 주로 인지적 요소에 국한되는 경우가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 수학교육 연구에 비하여 과학과 실과교육에서는 창의성 연구의 내용이 다양하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
