초록
영어
This study agrees with the argument that the value system of Korean has changed as time goes on and reclassifies Korean’s value system by reflecting values of Korean and Korean society and investigates and analyzes changes of the value system in detail. The investigated document is ‘2013 Survey on Korean Awareness and Values,’ and investigating method is Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory applied as the category for distinction. Examining modern Korean society with Hofstede’s theory suggests that Korea is going through a period of transition from individualism, masculine and self-restraining society to feminine and self-satisfying society. On the other hand, it is shown that modern Korean society still has a high power distance and uncertainty avoidance but little long-term oriented feature and it is different from existing classification of Korean’s value system. This study has a signification that it categorizes value system of Korean people reflecting modern Korean awareness and values correctly with an empirical analysis on Korean value system applying recent data. Furthermore, this study can be a basic data for making and developing textbook for Korean culture and setting contents of culture education in the future.
