The purpose of this paper is to study the comprehensive review on classificatory glossaries(類解類 譯學書) in Joseon dynasty. This makes it possible to organize the achievements that have been done so far, and we expect to be able to investigate what we need to study further in this field. The study of classificatory glossaries in Joseon dynasty began with bibliographic research in the beginning, thereafter notation system, morphology, and the phonological characteristics etc. The classificatory glossaries are lexicons which contain the Korean vocabulary as a whole of their publication time. However, they have been individually used only in some studies dealing with words, not as whole vocabulary systems. In the future, researches from the semantic point of view and vocabulary theory is greatly expected. Researches from a foreign language perspective are not a few but they are concentrated in a particular language. We need to study in more detail in this area.

이 글은 지금까지 이루어진 유해류 역학서에 관한 연구를 종합적으로 검토하여, 이 분야에서 이룬 성과는 무엇이며 앞으로 더 발전적으로 연구해야 할 것은 무엇인지 알아보기 위하여 작성되었다. 유해류 역학서에 대한 연구는 서지학적 연구로 시작하여, 표기법 및 형태론, 음운론적 특징에 대한 검토 등에 집중되어 왔을 뿐, 어휘를 다루는 여러 연구에서 개별적으로 이용되어 왔으며 어휘 체계 전체로서는 잘 활용되지 않았다. 유해류 역학서가 간행 시기의 한국어 어휘를 총체적으로 수록한 어휘집이라는 사실을 염두에 두면, 앞으로 어휘론과 의미론적인 관점에서의 연구는 크게 기대가 되는 분야라 할 수 있다. 외국어학적 관점에서 이루어진 유해류 역학서 연구는 적지 않다. 다만, 해당 언어에 대한 연구가 특정 언어에 편중되어 있으며, 또한 좀 더 세밀한 연구를 필요로 한다. 유해류 역학서를 비롯한 사역원 역학서 전체에 대하여 한학ㆍ청학ㆍ몽학ㆍ일본어학이라는 관점에서 바라볼 필요가 있다.
