The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between an mothers' perfectionism and parenting attitude. The subjects selected for this aim were 464 mothers of the young children aged from 3 to 5 years and enrolled in the early childhood educational institutions. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) ver 19.0 was employed to process and analyze the statistical data collected from the subjects. The principal outcomes from this study could be summed up as follows: First, Depending on the number of children, however, there was difference in part in parenting behavior. It was found that the more children a mother had, the lower her affective parenting attitude became. Second, there was partial difference in child-rearing behavior of perfectionistic parents in connection. As per education of mother's, there was difference in personal standard as well as expectation, criticism and autonomic·affective child-rearing attitude of parents. In terms of mother' occupation, difference was noted exclusively in physical difficulties from hostile parenting attitude. Depending on whether mothers had occupation or not, there was difference in their difficulties in performance and hostile child-rearing attitude. Parents of double-income household, on the other hand, tended to experience difficulties in parenting performance and to show increased hostile attitude toward parenting. A statistical difference was confirmed in subvariables of most subvariables of child-rearing attitude depending on monthly income. In other word, the higher monthly income, negative rearing attitude; and the higher positive rearing attitude, the lower negative child-rearing attitude. Third, regarding child-rearing behavior as a positive variable, it became obvious that the lower the concern for mistakes and suspicion of performance on the part of perfectionistic mothers and the higher their personal standards, the more autonomous child-rearing attitude they would be inclined to use. Furthermore, it was also made known that the lower the concern for mistakes and criticism of mothers for them and the higher expectation from parents and level of systematization were, the more affective child-rearing attitude they would likely use. Fourth, from the close examination of perfectionistic mothers' subvariables which might affect their controlled and hostile child-rearing attitude as negative variables, it became clear that the higher the concern for mistakes and systematization level were and the lower criticism mothers had received from their parents, the more controlled way they tended to rely on; and the higher the concern for mistakes, criticism and suspicion for performance might be, the more hostile attitude they would tend to take in their child rearing.

본 연구에서는 어머니의 양육태도에 영향을 미치는 완벽주의 요인을 분석하고, 어머니와 자녀의 인구학적 특성에 따른 완벽주의와 양육태도의 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 464명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구방법으로는 빈도분석, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석, 이원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 완벽주의와 양육태도의 차이를 살펴보면 자녀변인에서 자녀수가 많아질수록 애정적 양육태도는 감소하는 것으로 나타냈다. 그리고 부모변인에서는 모의 학력과 월수입이 완벽주의에 차이를 나타냈으며, 양육태도에서는 모의 학력과 맞벌이 유무 및 월수입이 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 어머니의 자율적 양육태도에는 어머니의 완벽주의 중 실수에 대한 염려와 수행에 대한 의심, 개인적 기준이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 애정적 양육태도에는 어머니의 완벽주의 중 실수에 대한 염려, 부모의 비난, 개인적 기준과 부모의 기대 및 조직화가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 통제적 양육태도에는 실수에 대한 염려, 조직화, 부모의 비난이 적대적 양육태도에는 실수에 대한 염려, 실수에 대한 염려와 부모의 비난 및 수행에 대한 의심이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
