To verify if Karsenia koreana oviposit eggs or deliver offsprings, we conducted an observation study at Jangtae mountain, a known natural habitat of the species, using a semi-natural terrarium between Nov 2014 and Oct 2015. We constructed a semi-natural terrarium, housed 5 ovulated females and 5 males, sealed with a plastic mesh cover using a rubber band, burried to the level of the ground surface, and covered by dead leaves and small tree twigs. On April 1, 2015 we confirmed all salamanders have survived through the last winter. On June 15, we first found 5 eggs stuck on the mesh cover and on June 25, another 7 eggs stuck on the side of a rock. The eggs are globular shape of which diameters are approximately 4.9 mm with a 1.7 mm long stalk. This is the first report on the eggs of K. koreana confirmed in natural habitat, providing important implications on the spawning period and clutch size of this species.

이끼도롱뇽이 새끼를 낳는지 혹은 알을 산란하는지의 여부를 확인하기 위하여 이끼도롱뇽이 서식하는 대전 시 장태산에서 2014년 10월부터 2015년 10월까지 반자 연식 사육장을 이용하여 관찰연구를 수행하였다. 2014 년 10월 30일에 반자연식 사육장 안으로 배란한 암컷 5 개체와 수컷 5개체를 인근 서식지에서 채집하여 넣었으 며, 이들은 겨울이 지난 2015년 4월 1일에 모두 생존하 고 있는 것으로 확인하였다. 이끼도롱뇽의 알은 2015년 6월 15일에 플라스틱 망 덮개에 붙어 5개가 관찰되었으 며, 6월 25일에는 바위의 측면에 붙어 7개의 알이 관찰 되었다. 알의 크기는 원형으로 직경이 약 4.9 mm이었으 며, 1.7 mm의 자루를 가지고 있었다. 이 보고서는 야외 서식지에서 관찰된 최초의 이끼도롱뇽 알 보고로, 이끼 도롱뇽의 산란시기와 한 배에 산란한 알의 수에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공한다.
