The purpose of this study is mainly provide basic design guideline for exhibition space based on the questionnaire of evaluation for visitor’s preference & satisfaction regarding various prototypical exhibition structure. It also aims to focus on how to acknowledge visitors to display contents efficiently but considerably enhance exhibition space design along with meeting visitors’ demands. From analysis about visitors’ preference and satisfaction regarding various types of exhibition structures, firstly visitors are more satisfied prototypical sections than prototypical elevations for exhibition structure. Secondly visitors are more satisfied consecutive and full height glass exhibition front rather than divisional and partial height glass exhibition front for wall types of exhibition structures. Lastly, visitors prefer stable, consecutive and simple types of elevations for wall types which is located on the margin area as well as curious, and free curvature types of elevation for three dimensional types which is located on the center in exhibition area.

본 연구는 전시물을 가장 효과적으로 알릴 수 있고 관람자가 실질적으로 선호하는 전시형태디자인의 바탕으로 질적 향상을 고려한 차원에서의 전시장소의 계획방안이 마련하고자 한다. 전시대 입면 및 단면형태유형의 선호도 조사와 만족도를 조사하여 전시공간의 발전 방향을 제시 할 뿐 아니라 문화예술 관람활동을 증진시키는데 목적을 가지며 관람객의 흥미와 교육적인 이해를 돕고 요구를 충족시키는 방안에 관한 연구이다. 전시대 형태유형에 따라 입면형태유형과 단면형태유형으로 나누어 만족도를 분석하였을 경우 첫째, 단면형태유형의 만족도가 입면형태유형 보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 벽면전시대의 입면형태유형에 따른 관람자들의 만족도에 있어서 관람자들이 ‘구분형’ 보다 ‘연속형’을, 그리고 ‘부분형’ 보다는 ‘전면형’의 만족도가 더 높았다. 마지막으로 전시대 입면형태유형에 있어서 관람자들이 가장자리에 위치한 배경적 역할을 하는 연속적이며 단순하고 정적인 벽면형전시대를 선호하는 반면 입체형전시대에 있어서는 전시공간의 중심에 위치하며 다소 자유로운 관람패턴을 형성 할 수 있고 호기심을 유발하는데 도움이 되는 동적인 형태를 선호한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
