This study takes note of the common expressions about Su Shi by the related poetry union in Joseon and Japan during the 14-16th century. And further more summerized how the intellectuals of Joseon and Japan possesed and collectively formed the image of Su Shi. In Joseon, intellecturals such as Park En held the union gathering at places similar to the Red Cliff and enjoyed boat cruising in memory of Su Shi. And by doing so they looked upon human life and also called Su Shi as ‘Su - The taoist Hermit’ in order to express his overcome attitude of the mundane world. In Japan the Wu-Shan Zen Monks became the main members of the academic poetry union and wrote poems about Su Shi. In this case ‘Su - The taoist Hermit’ was the general name for Su Shi. Therefor we can see that the literary class of Joseon and the Zen monks of Japan which were sought to be the intellectuals class of the society tried to understand Su Shi’s poems and collectivly possesed and shared the name ‘Su - The taoist Hermit’.

이 연구는 14-16세기 조선과 일본의 소식 관련 시회에서 지어진 시에서 소식을 지칭하는 공통된 표현이 나타나는 데에서 착안해 동 시기 두 나라 지식인들이 소 식의 시를 어떻게 향유하고 소식의 이미지를 어떻게 집단적으로 형상화했는지에 대해 정리한 것이다. 조선의 경우 박은 등의 인물들이 소식을 본떠 적벽과 유사한 공간에서 뱃놀이를 즐기는 시 모임을 열어 인생을 관조하고 세속을 초월한 소식을 표현하기 위해 ‘소선’이라는 호칭을 썼다. 일본의 경우 오산선승들이 주축이 된 학 술과 작시 모임에서 소식을 테마로 한 시를 지었는데 이때 나타난 ‘소선’은 소식을 부르는 일반적인 미칭이 되었다. 이로 볼 때 조선의 문인과 일본의 선승은 당시의 지식계층으로서 소식의 시를 이해하기 위해 노력하고 시회를 통해 ‘소선’이라는 호 칭을 집단적으로 공유하고 향유했음을 알 수 있다.
