This study analyzed trends in research on core competency relating to educational institution according to research year, research contents, research method, and research object in order to provide baseline data about education on the basis of core competency and in order to provide the direction of research on core competency. To this end, 252 pieces of research on core competency relating to educational institution, which had been published from 2006 to 2014, were used as the object of research. And frequency and percentage was calculated for data analysis. The results of research are as follows. With regard to the research year of research on core competency relating to educational institution, state-led researches have been carried out since 2006. And a viewpoint about school education started to be changed, focusing on elementary school and secondary school education. In research content, basic research and practical research is dealt with on a similar aspect. However, from all-round education perspective, it is necessary to make an effort to consistently manage curriculum and purpose of education on the basis of sufficient discussion about the philosophical background of core competency. In research method, researches were conducted, focusing on quantitative research and literature review. So, qualitative research and evaluation should be carried out together. In research object, discussions about students' core competency account for 2/3 of all researches. Therefore, it is necessary to actively carry out a discussion about teachers, parents, and experts.

본 연구는 핵심역량을 기반으로 하는 교육에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고 핵심역량 연구의 방향성을 제공하고자 교육기관과 관련된 핵심역량에 대한 연구동향을 연구시기, 연구내용, 연 구방법, 연구대상에 따라서 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2006년부터 2014년까지 발표된 교육기관 관련 핵심역량 연구 252편을 연구 대상으로 하였으며 자료 분석을 위해 빈도와 백분율을 산 출하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 교육기관 관련 핵심역량에 대한 연구는 연구시기에 있어서 2006부터 국가 주도적으로 연구가 이루어졌으며, 초 ․ 중등교육을 중심으로 학교교육에 대한 관점을 변화시키기 시작하였다. 연구 내용에 있어서 기초연구와 실천연구가 비슷한 양상으로 다루어지고 있으나, 전인교육의 측면에서 핵심역량의 철학적 배경에 대한 충분한 논의를 토 대로 교육목적과 교육과정을 일관성 있게 운영하도록 하는 노력이 필요하다. 연구방법에 있 어서, 양적연구과 문헌연구 중심으로 이루어졌기에, 질적인 연구와 평가가 함께 이루어져야 한다. 연구대상에 있어서 학생의 핵심역량에 대한 논의가 전체연구의 2/3에 해당하므로, 교 사, 부모 및 전문가에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되어야 할 필요가 있다.
