The purpose of this study is to contrast and analyze 「zenzen」 and 「cheonhyeo」, the adverbs of Japanese and Korean languages. Comparing the use of 「zenzen」 and 「cheonhyeo」 in the 「literary styles」 and 「colloquial styles」 of BCCWJ and malmungchi, 58.9% of 「zenzen」 was used in 「colloquial styles」. As only 11.0% of 「cheonhyeo」 was used in colloquial styles, it was concluded that 「zenzen」 is colloquial and 「cheonhyeo」 is literary. In other words, even when literal translation is possible, there could be a difference in the writing style. Also, the parts of speech of predicates in the form of negation or affirmation were sequence of verbs, nouns, and adjectives. Considering the form of expression of correspondence, the predicates that correspond with 「zenzen」 showed 610 (74.6%) examples in negation and 208 (25.4%) examples in affirmation, while those that correspond with 「cheonhyeo」 showed 506 (73.1%) examples in negation and 187 (26.9%) examples in affirmation. Therefore, the two adverbs were very similar. Considering the types of predicates that correspond with 「zenzen」 and 「cheonhyeo」, the predicates that are most often used with 「zenzen」 are in the form of 「NOUN+nai」, followed by 「chigau」, 「wakaranai」, 「NOUN+shinai」, and 「shiranai)」. The predicates that are most often used with 「cheonhyeo」 are in the form of 「NOUN+ouptta」, followed by 「haji anta」, 「taruda」, 「moruda」, and 「NOUN+toeji anta」, showing that the order of correspondence was also similar. In sum, it was concluded that 「zenzen」 and 「cheonhyeo」 have similar semantic use and are commonly more corresponded with negation rather than affirmation. Also, the tendency of predicates that correspond with negation is also similar, considering the order of predicates that correspond.

本稿は、日本語と韓国語の副詞‘全然(zenzen)’と‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’を対照分析し、類似点と相違点を明らかにすることを目的とするものである。 BCCWJと말뭉치(malmungchi)の資料から‘地の文’と‘会話文’の出現から‘全然(zenzen)’と‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’の文体の差を見ると、‘全然(zenzen)’は‘会話文’に58.9%が現れ、11.0%が現れた‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’に比べて出現頻度が高いことから、‘全然(zenzen)’はより話し言葉的で、‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’はより書き言葉的であると言える。逐語訳が可能である場合でも文体の相違はあり得るということである。呼応する述語の品詞は、否定形の場合も肯定形の場合も、後に来る品詞が、動詞、名詞、形容詞の順で現れる。そして、呼応する述語形式は、‘全然(zenzen)’と呼応する述語が否定形の場合は610例(74.6%)、肯定形の場合は208例(25.4%)であり、‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’と呼応する述語が否定形の場合は506例(73.1%)、肯定形の場合は187例(26.9%)で、出現傾向が非常に似ている。‘全然(zenzen)’と‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’と呼応する述語の種類も、‘全然(zenzen)’と呼応する述語として一番多く現れるのは‘名詞+ない’で、‘違う’‘分からない’‘名詞+しない’‘知らない’の順であり、‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’の場合に一番多く現れるのは‘名詞+없다(ない)’で、‘하지 않다’‘다르다’‘모르다’‘名詞+되지 않다’の順であることから、呼応する述語順が似ていることが分かる。‘全然(zenzen)’と‘전혀(cheonhyeo)’は、意味用法において類似していて、肯定形より否定形とより呼応度が高いことでも共通している。また、否定形と呼応する述語の出現傾向も類似度が高く、呼応する述語の種類の順位の近似さからも類似度の高いことが確認できる。
