This study aims to examine the improvement of trade shows evaluation system that received financial support from the government. For this purpose, we analyzed the current condition of exhibition evaluation system and conducted international case studies. The major international organizations such as UFI, AUMA and UKTI use concrete and detailed indicators to evaluate effectiveness of exhibition participation. They also introduce Return on Investment approach to evaluate efficiency of exhibition. In this study, we propose 3 key indicators(Sales lead performance, Contract performance, Customer acquisition performance) and 13 items suitable for Korea exhibition industry. Using these metrics, the government and exhibitor both can measure their ROI, BCR indicator and conduct comparative evaluation with other exhibitions. To promote the utilization of these system, we also propose standard lead tracking form so that exhibitor can apply in practice.

본 연구는 현행 국고지원 해외전시사업 평가체계의 개선방안을 마련함으로써 전시회 참가성과를 체계적으로 평가하고, 정부 지원사업의 효율성 및 효과성을 높이기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 현행 평가체계의 운영현황 및 특성을 검토하고 해외 주요국 사례를 분석하였으며 주요 한계점 및 시사점을 도출하였다. 세계전시산업협회, 독일 AUMA, 영국 UKTI와 같은 주요 단체에서는 구체적이고 명확한 지표 활용을 통해 전시회 참가의 효과성을 측정하는 평가구조를 갖추고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 최근 들어 비용대비효과(ROI) 접근법을 통해 전시회 참가의 효과성뿐만 아니라 효율성 을 측정하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이러한 사례검토 및 해외전시사업의 지원목적, 비교가능성 등을 기준으로 하여 국내에서 활용 가능한 평가체계를 개발하기 위해 전시회 참가목표를 유형별로 구 분하고 각 유형별 측정기준을 제시하였으며, 이를 효과적으로 활용하기 위해 표준상담 양식(sales lead form)의 개발을 제안하였다. 또한, 사업별 비교 가능한 평가지표 개발 및 도입을 위해 효과성 지표 외에 효율성 지표(BCR, ROI 등)를 산출하는 방안을 제시 하였다.
