A Use and Gratifications of Chinese Mobile Instant Messenger

This study is focused on Chinese mobile instant messaging-WeChat, which most widely used in china, to find out the WeChat users' using motivation, a correlation between motivation and satisfaction, and a correlation between motives and using patterns. From the classification on the use motivation factor analysis based on the data, ‘WeChat users’ main motivations are entertainment/relaxation, followed by the factor of convenience, relationship maintenance and communicate with others. The correlation analysis for the relationship between motivation and satisfaction was shown to be high. But the relationship between motivation and using pattern toward WeChat was partially correlated.
