Zato(2014) argues that Spanish consumption verbs, such as comer(‘eat’), beber(‘drink’) or fumar(‘smoke’), resort to the preposition de(‘from’) in order to express the place from which the subject takes the substance to consume because this place is the same as the substance itself and its consequence is a partitive reading. According to this perspective, the internal argument is partially consumed. Zato considers that the optional realization of the preposition de in the consumption verb construction can be treated as a Conative Alternation and this alternation produces aspectual changes. However Vázquez et al.(2000) say that this sort of structure is not possible. In this paper we will try to show that the consumption verb involved with the preposition de is not a kind of Conative Alternation. Based on the Distributed Morphology(Halle & Marantz(1993)), we will show that the aspectual interpretation of the consumption verb construction is crucially related to the spell-out condition of P[±SOURCE] in its complement position.

Zato(2014)는 스페인어의 소비동사(consumption verbs)인 comer, beber, fumar 등은 주어가 소비하고자 하는 대상을 취하고자하는 근원을 표현하기 위해 전치사 de를 사용하고 그 근원은 소비대상 그 자체이므로 결과적으로는 부분적 해석(partitive reading)을 가짐에 따라 내 재논항은 부분적 소비가 이루어진다고 한다. Zato는 전치사 de가 나타나는 구조를 소위 시도 구조교호(conative alternation)의 일환으로 보고 이러한 구조에서는 상적 전환(aspectual changes)을 유발한다고 언급하지만 Vázquez et al.(2000)은 스페인어에서는 이러한 시도구조 교호는 존재하지 않는다고 단언한다. 본 연구는 스페인어의 소비동사가 전치사 de를 동반하는 경우 시도구조교호가 아님을 증명하고 소비동사의 상적 해석은 동사의 보어위치에 생성되는 P[±SOURCE]의 문자화 조건과 밀접하게 연관됨을 분산형태론(Distributed Morphology: Halle & Marantz(1993))적 접근을 통해 그 도출구조를 제안하고자 한다.
