Chinese government has been trying to enter overseas markets and exploit natural resources to respond to the domestic supply-demand imbalances of natural resources. Chinese mining companies are expanding their businesses into foreign countries and developing their natural resources, Chinese government is offering legal, financial, diplomatic assistances to support these companies. This strategy achieved remarkable achievements, but in one way, caused the market disruption and the collapse of principles, because of this, international public criticism has been raised in recent years. For this reason, this study aims at reviewing the background and status of this situation, on this basis, predicting the direction of China's resource diplomacy, and finally drawing conclusions and implications.

중국은 급속한 공업화와 인구의 성장으로 나타난 광물자원 수급의 불균형에 대응하기 위해서 해외시장 진출과 자주적인 개발에 힘쓰는 상황이다. 중국은 정부의 정책과 지원에 기초해 성장한 기업이 해외에 진출하여 자원을 개발하고 정부는 재정과 법률로 그리고 외교로 측면을 지원하는 전략을 구사한다. 이러한 중국의 전략과 행보는 눈부신 성과를 거두고 있지만 한편으로 원칙의 붕괴나 시장의 혼란을 초래하여 최근에 들어서 국제적 여론의 지적과 비난도 증가하는 상황이다. 본 논문은 이러한 현상의 배경과 현황을 다시 살펴보고 이에 근거하여 중국의 자원외교 향방을 전망하며 이에 대한 시사점을 찾아보고자 한다.
