This paper explores the evolving intra-industry triangular specialization pattern among Korea, China, and Japan. China's position in triangular trade is characterised by growing imports with Asia in intermediate goods, especially in parts and components, and by rising exports with the rest of the world and two Northeast Asian countries in final goods, mainly consumption goods but also capital goods. And these intra-industry triangular trade structures have helped China to improve its comparative advantage in foreign trade.

한국이 최종재를 생산하여 역외세계에 수출하는 삼국간 산업내 가공단계별 또는 생산단계별 분업구조는 약화되고 있는 반면 중국이 최종재를 생산하여 역외세계에 수출하는 역내 생산단계별 분업구조는 강화되고 있으며, 중국과 일본이 최종재를 생산하여 역내에 수출하는 역내 산업내 생산단계별 분업구조도 강화되고 있다. 그리고 임의적인 계량모형을 이용한 삼각분업지수와 비교우위의 상관관계 분석결과는 여섯 가지 유형의 무역흐름 중에서 중국이 한국과 일본으로부터 중간재를 수입하고 한국과 일본에 최종재를 수출하는 무역흐름과 중국이 한국과 일본으로부터 중간재를 수입하고 역외 세계(ROW)에 최종재를 수출하는 무역흐름에서만 삼각분업지수와 비교우위지수 사이의 유의적인 정의 관계를 예측하였다.
