Filed patents in the fields of lubricant dewaxing, manufacturing process and technology relating to catalyst in Korea, U.S, China, Europe and Japan was analyzed in this study. Patents relating to the manufacturing process and catalyst for the production of synthetic lubricant, are showing decreasing tendency from 2010 and among the filed patents in Korea, domestic rate was only 27%. In the past, sole technology affiliated with lubricant manufacturing process or catalyst technology was mainly developed. However, composite technology development which combines both manufacturing process and catalyst technology, have become the main focus recently.

본 연구에서는 윤활유의 탈납 공정의 제조 및 촉매관련 기술과 관련하여 한국, 미국, 중국, 유럽 및 일본 에 출원된 특허를 분석하였다. 합성 윤활유 제조를 위한 촉매 및 제조공정과 관련된 특허는 2000년대 초반까 지는 일정수준으로 유지되엇으나, 2010년 이후로는 전반적으로 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 한국에 출원된 특허중 내국인 비율은 27%에 불과하였다. 과거에는 윤활유 제조공정이나 촉매관련 단독 기술 개발이 주로 진행되었으나 최근에는 단독 기술 보다는 윤활유제조공정과 촉매기술이 융합된 복합기술위주로 기술 개발이 진행되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
