Christian worship does God’s saving story. It means that worship has a narrative-character. Then what kind of story is God’s saving story? What kind of story Christian worship have to do? According to John Dominic Crossan, stories we have and tell are divided into two categories: myth and parable. Based on Crossan’s concept of myth and parable, this short paper insists that Christian worship has to does parabolic-mythic story; our worship must be parabolic-mythic. This paper first summarizes and explains Crossan’s concept of myth and parable. It then demonstrates that Christian worship has both mythic and parabolic characters. After examining today’s worship, this paper indicates that it is mythic only and emphasizes that the genuine Christian worship must be parabolic-mythic worship. Then who can we do parabolic-mythic worship? This paper shows that the church’s traditional fourfold-structure of worship could be a good frame to design such worship. It then draws a conclusion.

예배는 하나님의 이야기를 실행하는 것이다. 즉 예배는 이야기의 특성을 지 닌다는 의미이다. 그렇다면 하나님의 구원의 이야기, 교회의 예배가 실행하는 이야기는 어떤 성격의 이야기인가? John Dominic Crossan은 우리가 말하는 이야기가 신화와 비유로 구분될 수 있다고 말한다. 그의 개념을 토대로, 이 짧 은 논문은 기독교 예배는 비유-신화적 이야기를 실행해야 함을 주장한다. 다 시 말해, 예배는 비유-신화적이 되어야 함을 강조한다. 이를 위해 이 논문은 먼저 Crossan의 신화와 비유의 개념을 간략하게 요약 하고 설명한다. 그리고 그의 개념을 토대로 예배는 신화적 특성과 비유적 특성 모두를 가지고 있음을 보인다.
