This study discussed the role of the media news coverage on leading the policy change through the theories and practical cases pertaining to the effect on the child and family policies. Media news coverage plays an important role in increasing the general public's interest in and understanding of policies, and it also accelerates formation of the public opinion and policy change by raising issues. Since mass media is a powerful medium with the ability to influence due to the diverse unique characteristics when it comes to message delivery, press and media's active coverage plays the role of accelerating policy change since the problems of the laws and systems pertaining to child and family problems are pointed out by experts. Meanwhile, excessive coverage can leave behind side-effects of irrational policy change since manipulative public opinion can be formed. When the media considers this type of reality that it faces, it is important for it to present the facts correctly during the process of making the effort to obtain sources for media coverage. Moreover, it is necessary for it to adapt to the policy change and public awareness. Cooperation among the media and experts can bring out policy change and improvement.

본 연구는 미디어가 아동과 가족정책의 미치는 영향에 대해 이론과 사례를 중심으로 논의 하였다. 미디어 보도는 대중에게 정책 관련 관심과 이해를 높이는데 중요한 역할을 하며, 문 제의 이슈화를 통해 여론의 형성과 정책의 변화를 촉진한다. 매스 미디어는 메시지 전달에 있 어 다양한 특수성으로 강력한 영향력을 지닌 매체이기 때문에 언론의 적극적인 보도는 아동 및 가족 문제의 위기에 대한 법과 제도의 문제점이 전문가들에 의해 지적되고 정책의 변화를 촉진하는 역할을 한다. 반연 과잉 보도는 여론몰이식 공중의 압력으로 작용되어 불합리한 정 책 변화의 후유증을 남길 수 있다. 미디어가 직면한 이러한 현실을 고려할 때 미디어 보도를 얻어 내기 위한 노력에서 내용을 올바르게 제시하는 것이 중요하며, 공공의 인식과 정책 변화 에 적응할 수 있도록 하고 미디어와 전문가들 간의 협력관계가 정책 변화와 개선을 이끌어 낼 수 있다.
