이 글은 포스트 사회주의 등장 이후, 대중문화가 점차 주류화 되어 가는 시대에, 대중서사로 변화하고 있는 중국 텔레비전 드라마를 분석심리학(Analytical Psychology)의 틀에서 접근한다. 대중서사로 자리해 가고 있는 텔레비전 드라마 는 중국 사회의 중화제로서 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 즉, 포스트 사회주의가 등장 하고 국가와 시장의 모순된 체제 속에서 대중은 사회적 스트레스에 시달리고 있다. 그리고 이러한 스트레스는 대중의 심리를 불안하게 하고 있다. 이에 대해, 대중서 사로서 중국 텔레비전 드라마를 전제한다면, 응당 사회적 스트레스 속 불안한 대중 의 심리에 대리만족을 제공한다. 이 글은 오늘날 정치선전물에서 대중서사로 변해 가는 중국 텔레비전 드라마의 이러한 기능론적인 변화를 규명해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 2011년 중국 대륙을 떠들썩하게 했던 텔레비전 드라마 〈보보경 심〉을 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 그리고 분석의 초점을 여주인공에 맞추면서, 그 녀가 작품 속에서 이루고 있는 진정한 사랑의 완성과 자기실현의 과정을 추적했다.
