This study is aimed at deducting Feng shui awareness of King Jeong-jo through examining Feng shui features from the location environment and spatial composition in Yongjusa Temple (龍珠寺) which was a praying temple for Crown prince Sado. To pray for the repose of wrongfully died Crown prince Sado`s soul, King Jeong-jo who was very considerate to his father, Crown prince Sado established Yongjusa Temple. He went further and had a mind to manage his country through a Buddhistic idea that taught all the people to respect their parents. King Jeong-jo built Hoseongjeon Hall to enshrine ancestral tablet of Crown prince Sado, which name, Hoseongjeon means a building of enshrining spirit of saint. King Jeong-jo tried to place his father in the ranks of saint. Feng shui played an important part in political history of the Joseon Dynasty, and King Jeong-jo had the knowledge and applied it appropriately. He had studied it independently and reflected it to his political activities. Especially, he demonstrated it to construct moved Royal Tomb of Crown prince Sado, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Yongjusa Temple. King Jeong-jo put true heart to select profitable site and had a deep understanding to apply it politically.
