Korean church have achieved remarkable growth rate through the work of the holy spirit, which is the devotional works of christian and the passion toward the gospel. Based on those sign of the holy spirit, christian have worked with the most appropriate way of ministry, concern and care on the social issue, which is the conflict of generation, financial issue, human alienation. On the other hand, the Korean church of today is not fulfilling people's need on politics, society, economics, culture, education and all the social issue. Moreover, some of the christian community is the crux of the matter in these problems, which leaves negative evaluation on christian community. Not only that, recent Korean church, have only focused on the growth of their size, which have massively increased the number of church, and christian population. However, excessive focus on missionary work, and growth of church have eventually, led the church fail on their duty, which is social works. This paper will propose an effective way of activation plan on social work of a regional church for the restoration of modern church, which have worked with the grace and love of GOD. In advance of gathering ideas of an activation plan, theoretical study should be the broad base. For that reason, survey was conducted on christian population around Anyang, Gunpo, Uiwang Gyeonggi-do which was about 572 people, asking their thoughts and perceptions toward current social works from the church. This survey will give a brief idea of an actual condition. Based on this survey, this paper will make a proposal, which is the steps of propulsion and the activation plan. Unfortunately, the proposal has it's own limits on making an actual and specific plan to all regional church, because of their different characteristics, local environment and all different parts of religious body.

한국교회는 성령의 역사 속에서 기독교인들의 헌식적인 봉사와 복음에 대한 열정을 기반으로 그 상황에 적합한 목회와 접근방법을 통해 사회 이슈인 세대 간 갈등, 경제적 빈곤, 인간 소외 등에 대한 관심과 배려를 통해 경이적인 성장을 이루었었다. 그러나 현재에 이르러서는 교회가 급변하는 정치・사회・경제・문화・교육 등에 따른 사회 문제에 별다른 역할을 하고 있지 못하다. 오히려 이러한 사회 문제에 기독교인들이 연관되어 있다는 부정적인 평가를 받을 뿐이다. 또한 최근 한국교회들은 교회의 양적 성장에만 집중한 나머지 교회 수, 기독교인수에 있어서는 급속한 성장과 발전을 이룩하였지만, 지나치게 전도나 심방 등의 성도 유치에만 치중하여 교회가 지니는 사회적 책임을 다하고 있지 못하다. 하나님의 사랑과 은혜 속에서 주의 선한 일을 감당했던 한국의 교회가 교회의 사명을 다할 수 있도록 지역교회의 사회사업 주체인 교회구성원들의 인식 조사를 바탕으로 보다 효과적인 지역교회 사회사업 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교회의 사회사업과 관련하여 이론적 고찰을 선행하고, 경기도의 안양, 군포, 의왕지역의 지역교회 구성원 572명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 교회 사회사업에 관한 인식과 현 실태를 파악하고 이를 토대로 지역교회의 사회사업 활성화 방안과 교회 사회사업 기획 및 추진절차를 제시하였다. 다만 현 한국교회가 앞으로 지향해야할 사회사업의 방향의 경우 각각의 지역과 교단에 따라 그 환경과 특성이 다양하기 때문에 구체적이고 실질적인 프로그램을 제시하지 못하였다는 한계를 지니고 있다.
