In this study the indirect and neutral expressions in refusal scenes were classified into listener-centered and speaker-centered euphemistic expressions, and then how those expressions appear in the framework of semantic formula was reviewed. Also the gap between listeners’ acceptance and the speakers’ intetion, which is caused by the types of expressions, was investigated. In this study, the cases showing the gap mentioned above were observed in the speaker-centered euphemistic expressions, which suggested that listener-centered expressions should be used in order to reduce the difference between the acceptance and expressions. This study implies that the maintenance of good personal relationships, proper emotional distance, face-saving compromise should be employed in the refusal secnes, and most importantly, the listener-centered euphemistic expressions should be used for good communication without misunderstanding.

本研究では韓国と日本のテレビドラマの断り表現を対象にして行った。間接的な拒絶表現を、faceを基準にして聽者中心の｢婉曲表現｣と話者中心の｢婉曲表現｣に分けて、各々の断り表現のストラテジーが｢意味公式｣上では、どのようにあらわれるか、そしてどちらが断りを伝える話者の意図と断りをうける聽者の受容に差をもたらす可能性が高いかについて考察した。その結果、話者の意図と聽者の受容に差を見せている例で、｢-ㅂ니다｣｢-서요｣のような命題形の理由、そして直接表現に近い＜謝罪＞＜理由＞順の発話の例が話者の意図と聽者の受容に差をもたらす可能性が高いということがわかった。また、これらは話者中心の｢婉曲表現｣において観察できた。したがって、話者の意図と聽者の受容の差を減らすためには、聽者中心の発話を使う必要があるということを本研究を通じてわかった。 　最後に拒絶の場面において、良い対人関係維持、相手との適当な感情的距離の維持、相手のメンツと拒絶する話者自身のメンツの維持、何よりも話者と聽者の誤解のないスムーズな会話のためには、聽者中心の｢婉曲表現｣を拒絶ストラテージとして使用すべきだというのが本研究の結果として重要な点である。
