The main purpose of this article is to study the characteristics of the sentence-final particles’s intonation Japanese language learners show in their speech in the Korean-language-use regions in the aspect of phonetics and is to provide practical and fundamental documents for the intonation education of Japanese language as well. Intonation has many functions and plays an important role in the speech because the intonation difference between native speakers and non-native speakers can cause misunderstanding in their communication. Nevertheless, teaching intonation was neglected in pronunciation instruction for a long time. Recently intonation instruction is considered to be important and necessary. Therefore, this paper examines various usages of prosody on sentence-final particles’s ‘yo’ in japanese. This research addressed sentence-final particles’s intonation for both Korean learner’s speech and Japanese focusing on pitch patterns, containment time for all, and sentence-final particles’s ‘yo’, width of pitch, width of intensity, F1 and F2 rate for vowel. It is considered that speaker’s intention for Japanese sentence-final particles’s ‘yo’ involves many different acoustic characteristics. Furthermore, it is needed to study various speaker’s intention and to conduct tests for Japanese natives to decide Korean natives’ Japanese locution intentions. Also effective and concrete study on methodology education is required to utilize this study for Japanese phonetics study.

본 연구의 목적은 한국인 일본어 학습자를 대상으로 발화 의도에 따른 문말 조사 ‘よ’의 인토네이션을 음향음성학적인 측면에서 고찰하고, 일본어 인토네이션 교육을 위한 실증적이고 기초적인 자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 인토네이션은 여러 가지 기능을 가지고 있으며 인토네이션의 차이는 외국어 학습자와 모어화자와의 대화에서 오해를 불러올 만큼 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 발음 교육에 있어서 인토네이션 교육은 오랫동안 중요시되지 않았으나 최근에는 그 중요성이 부각되고 있음에 따라 문말 조사 ‘よ’와 그 인토네이션을 중심으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 본문에서는 한국인 일본어 학습자와 일본어 모어화자의 문말 조사 ‘よ’의 발화에 대하여 피치패턴, 전체 및 문말 조사 ‘よ’의 발화 지속 시간, 피치의 폭, 강세의 폭, 모음의 f1, f2의 수치를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 하지만 이밖에도 많은 음성적 특징이 관계되어 있을 것으로 생각되므로, 나아가 보다 다양한 발화 의도에 대해서도 조사할 필요가 있을 것이다. 이러한 연구의 결과가 일본어 음성 교육에 유용하게 활용될 수 있도록 보다 효율적이고 구체적인 교육 방법론적 연구도 차후의 과제로 삼고자 한다.
