The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of servant leadership on job satisfaction and to identify the moderating effects of emotional intelligence in the relationship between servant leadership and job satisfaction. We analyzed data collected from 272 service industry employees by using PASW (Predictive Analytics Software)18 and AMOS 18.0 programs. The results of this study were as follows: First, servant leadership appeared to partially positively affect the job satisfaction. Sub-factors of servant leadership such as wisdom, persuasion and stewardship positively affected job satisfaction. Second, the moderating effect of emotional intelligence appeared to partially affect the relationship between servant leadership and job satisfaction. It was demonstrated that emotional intelligence played a moderating role in the relationship between job satisfaction and sub-factors of servant leadership such as altruistic calling, persuasion and stewardship. These results indicate that servant leadership is very effective to ultimately improve job satisfaction of employees because it inspires the emotional intelligence in employees

본 연구는 서번트 리더십이 직무만족에 미치는 영향관계를 알아보고, 서번트 리더십과 직무만족 간 관계에서 감성지능의 조절효과를 알아보기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해 서비스산업 근로자 272명으로부터 수집된 자료를 PASW(Predictive Analytics Software)18과 AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서번트 리더십이 직무만족에 부분적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 서번트 리더십의 하위요인인 지혜, 설득, 청지기 정신이 직무만족에 정(+)의 영향에 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 서번트 리더십과 직무만족 간 관계에서 감성지능의 조절효과는 부분적으로 나타났다. 감성지능이 서번트 리더십 하위요인인 이타적 소명, 설득, 청지기 정신과 직무만족 간의 관계에서 조절역할을 입증하였다. 이러한 결과는 서비스산업에서 서번트 리더십이 부하의 감성지능을 고취시킴으로써 궁극적으로 근로자 직무만족 제고에 효과적일 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
