The objective of this research is First, to verify the corresponding enterprise's stock return which effects its stock price through classifying the listed enterprises of the KOSDAQ stock market when the stock repurchase is announced to the market for the purposes such as the stability of stock price, management right defense and the distribution of profit among the stock owners. Second, to verify whether or not the type of stock repurchase objective has a notable effect on the stock price of the corresponding enterprise. The results of this research are like the following: First, in the standard enterprise AR(abnormal return) mainly showed a positive profit(+) 0 days after the stock repurchase. Second, it showed that the CAR(cumulative abnormal return) throughout the whole period of stock repurchase announcement in the KOSDAQ stock market and the stock market announced as the management right defense as the objective of stock repurchase was statistically not notable. Third, it was showed that the difference of CAR in compared sections of the whole standard differs before and after the stock repurchase announcement. As the result of this empirical study of this treatise, it showed that when one did stock repurchase announcement through the direct acquisition method as the listed enterprises of the stock market and the KOSDAQ market between 2009 and 2012, the corresponding stock price increased susceptibility.

본 연구에서는 자기주식 취득과 관련된 중요한 가설 중의 하나인 신호표시가설(signaling theory)에 대한 검증을 시도하고, 다양한 목적으로 시행되고 있는 자기주식 취득이 시장에 공시되는 경우 유가증권시장 상장기업과 코스닥시장 상장기업을 구분하여 자본시장에서 해당 기업의 주가에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자사주를 취득하는 공시유형에 따라 자본시장의 변화를 검증하고자 한다. 이전의 연구에서는 취득목적의 제한으로 공시유형이 제한적이었지만 개정 이후 자유로운 취득이 허용됨에 따라 취득목적(경영권방어, 주가안정, 이익소각, 기타(합병 등))으로 제기된 유형별로 구분하여 자사주 취득 공시 효과에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상하는 다양한 변수들과 함께 자본시장의 변화를 분석함으로써 자사주 취득이 긍정적인 효과를 보이는지를 검증하였다.
